Rotional/Paddock /Bale Grazing

John and I started using rotational/paddock grazing in 2019. We move our herd into a paddock for just 1-2 days, which allows the soil to thrive naturally. As the animals graze, their urine and feces fertilize the soil, and their hooves help to trample the plant litter, feeding the soil without the need for chemicals. This process boosts the soil's ability to hold water, which you can see in our lush, green pastures.

Our honeybee health has also improved, thanks to these practices. In the winter, we bale graze, leaving extra residue that further increases the soil’s water retention. This method could potentially double or triple our pasture production over the next five years. After all, good seed and forage are nothing without water, and that's why we're fully committed to bale grazing during the colder months!
